Title: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid in 77057)

Duration: Contract-to-Hire
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US.

Key Points:

  • Strong experience in Cisco SD-WAN is a requirement for this role
  • Solid background and experience in Cisco Catalyst is required
  • This position is hybrid, with 3 days onsite per week

Summary:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems tailored to industrial environments. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial protocols, network security, and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in a high-stakes Operational Technology setting.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network solutions for industrial environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Configure and manage industrial network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and IT staff to integrate network solutions with industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA systems.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains current and secure.

 
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial network protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience with network security practices and technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco network devices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.

 

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are a plus.
  • This role will require occasional travel to the field office <10%.
