Title: Telecommunications Technician 1
Location: Onsite, Las Vegas, NV Monday through Thursday, 30-40 hours per week
Compensation: $25/hr. – $32/hr. 
Duration: 9-12 months, possibility for extension

The Telecommunications Technician I will be responsible for the following: 

  • Configuration of desk phones, caller ID, and reset voicemail settings using Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
  • Process requests; remove users from Calero (TEM) personnel records and update the WS1 (Workspace ONE) spreadsheet accordingly. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by updating address locations, product types, and service statuses for both wireless and wireline products, including IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Delete) activities. 
  • Support mobility operations including device activations, mobile device troubleshooting, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) processes. 
  • Document all work performed in ServiceNow, ensuring traceability and compliance with internal procedures. 
  • Collaborate with departmental Telecom Liaisons to provide information, training, technical support, and assistance with telecommunications equipment and services.

DUTIES, SCOPE OF WORK, MILESTONES:

  • Schedule is 30 – 40 hours per week and flexible (Mon thru Thur)
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to team members and leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to assist with telecommunication needs
  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination between departments and vendors.
  • Provide hands-on guidance during future testing and training.
  • Address and technical or process-related roadblocks promptly.
  • Monitor performance, address post-launch issues, and ensure adoption. Telecom Expense Management (TEM) & Invoice Processing
  • Works as a team member to implement new technology and to assist in projects to automate and improve existing processes.
  • Principles and practices of auditing financial documents, contracts, invoices, payments and related financial records.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Billing reports
  • Mobile device activations including troubleshooting.
  • ServiceNow ticket management
  • Redundant Telecom activities such as MACDs like resetting PINs and passwords, changing call forwarding settings, creating simultaneous rings, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a stringent criminal background check (process may take up to six weeks 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 months – 2 years or more of government on site work experience
  • The position requires an equivalent of two (2) years of college level course work in information systems, business administration or a related field, OR…
  • OR an associate’s degree and equivalent experience working onsite with government agencies.
  • Hands-on experience developing both technical and user-friendly communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative and positive team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure, manage high volumes, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency in both oral and written formats.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar workflow management tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Microsoft Teams 

DURATION
9 – 12 months with the possibility of extension subject to funds.

OTHER:

  • Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week, Mon thru Thur, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm in Las Vegas, on site.
  • There is flexibility for the exact shift within the above timeframe.
  • The candidate will be required to pass a stringent criminal fingerprint background check. This background check can take up to six (6) weeks to complete, during which time the selected candidate will not be permitted to begin work. Once the candidate has passed the background check, a start date will be determined and communicated.
