Women’s History Month
DEI
March is Women’s History Month, with International Women’s Day falling on Friday, March 8th. This is a time to celebrate the contributions of women throughout history and reflect on the importance of gender equality. This year’s theme is, “Inspire Inclusion,” to encourage everyone to inspire others to value women, understand women, work toward empowering women, and build a better world.
Women’s History Month aims to shed light on the stories of women whose achievements often go unrecognized, especially when it comes to historical narratives. From keeping the country up and running during wartime to championing the LGBTQ rights movement, women have shaped American history since its beginnings. Dedicating an entire month to appreciating the accomplishments of women throughout history brings their too-often neglected contributions to the forefront of the national conversation.
Despite the adversity women face in the fight for gender equality, they continue to persevere and make the world a better place generation after generation. This Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we encourage you to seek out the stories of the women in your life. From your grandmother to your work colleagues, each woman has a unique experience to share. Opening this important dialogue gives women the space to feel heard, seen, included, and appreciated for all that they’ve achieved in spite of gender inequality.
